Career Summary and Background
Giles is currently a PhD candidate in Communication Design and New Media at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design, University of the Arts, London.

Giles Rollestone has worked for SBI and Company (formerly Scient) as a senior level user experience consultant, information architect and interface designer.

In addition to working for SBI/Scient, Giles has worked for Sapient, Meta Design, Icon MediaLab and at the Interval Research Studio, Royal College of Art, amongst overs.

Giles has a background in interactive media and visual communication, he brings over eleven years experience in the conceptual design, development and implementation of software-based tools and digital media experiences; seven years in Internet consulting/New media and
four years in academic based 'design-led' practice based research.

Academic Based Research
From 1995 - 1999, Giles worked in the Computer Related Design department (now Interaction Design) at the Royal College Art (RCA). Employed as an Interval Research Fellow and Tutor on the Computer Related Design MA course.

Research projects ranged from new media and visual culture (digital cinema, interactive narrative) to networks and users (collaborative software, communities). Whilst at the RCA, Giles originated the multi-award winning Urban Feedback multimedia projects and the Active Media Group's 'Sushi' project. He has exhibited and presented across Europe, the United States and Japan.

User Experience Consultancy and New Media Design
Giles has consulting experience in the following industries; Energy & Utilities, Estate Agency, Retail and Telecommunications & Media. Clients range from BP, Royal & Sun Alliance, UBS, Sara Lee, Orange, IBM, the Museum of Tolerance to the Tate Gallery.

Before joining SBI/Scient, Giles worked for Meta Design and Icon MediaLab as a user experience consultant and information architect.

Prior to working at the Royal College of Art (RCA) as an Interval Research Fellow, Giles worked in the new media industry from 1992 - 1995 as an Art director and Senior interactive designer for Online Magic (now Agency.com), Noho Digital, Diverse Interactive, Inform Reseach Design and Development, and Barclays Multimedia.

Education
Giles is a graduate from the Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, London. He has a BA (Hons) in Graphic Design and a Post Graduate Diploma in Graphic Design and Computers.
